The Index Medical College Hospital & Research Centre was privileged to host a visit by Dr. Kunwar Vijay Shah, Cabinet Minister, Department of Tribal Affairs, Government of Madhya Pradesh. During his visit, Dr. Shah met with students from the tribal community studying in various faculties of the Index Group of Institutions. He interacted with them to understand their educational experiences and informed them about the several welfare and scholarship schemes initiated by the state government for the upliftment of tribal youth. Dr. Shah highlighted that the government’s mission is to ensure equal access to quality education and career opportunities for tribal students, both in India and abroad, through comprehensive support systems. He encouraged students to make the most of these opportunities to enhance their knowledge and skills for a brighter future. Dr. Shah also visited the Index Super Speciality Hospital, where he met Pooja, a ninth-grade student from Khandwa who had been referred to the hospital for specialized treatment. He interacted with her family and the team of doctors attending to her case, taking a detailed review of her health condition and the ongoing medical care being provided. The Minister instructed the hospital authorities to ensure that the student receives the best possible treatment and appreciated the team for their efforts in delivering quality healthcare. His visit underlined the government’s commitment to making advanced medical facilities accessible to all sections of society, especially the tribal population and underprivileged communities, who often rely on such institutions for quality and compassionate care. During the visit, Shri Suresh Singh Bhadoria, Chairman of the Index Group, and Mr. Mayankraj Singh Bhadoria, Vice Chairman, extended a warm welcome to the honorable Minister and expressed their gratitude for his visit. They reiterated the institution’s ongoing commitment to advancing healthcare and education through excellence, ethics, and social responsibility. Also present were Dr. G.S. Patel, Additional Director Dr. R.C. Yadav, Dr. Swati Prashant (Medical Superintendent, Index Hospital), Mr. Brajesh Pandey (Deputy Commissioner, Tribal Affairs Department), Mr. Narendra Bhide (Assistant Commissioner), and the Divisional Hostel In-Charge. The visit reinforced the shared vision of fostering collaboration between healthcare, education, and government initiatives for the overall welfare of tribal communities.
