Index Medical College Hospital & Research Centre organised an Induction Programme for newly admitted MBBS students, marking the beginning of their journey into medical education and professional training. The programme was organised to familiarise students and their parents with the academic environment, faculty members, departments, institutional functioning and responsibilities associated with the medical profession. Faculty members from various departments interacted with the students and parents and shared important information about the MBBS curriculum, academic discipline and the learning opportunities available at the college. The programme provided students with an opportunity to understand their new academic environment and begin their medical education with clarity and confidence. Addressing the students, Dean Dr. Sanjeev Narang said that securing admission to the MBBS programme is a significant milestone and the beginning of a new phase filled with opportunities and responsibilities. He encouraged students to continue their journey with dedication, discipline and consistent effort, while developing sensitivity towards patients. Ayushman Director Dr. G.S. Patel emphasised that becoming a good doctor requires more than earning a degree and urged students to attend classes regularly and approach their studies with sincerity and commitment. He said that the MBBS journey represents not only an academic achievement but also the fulfilment of a major dream for students and their families. Vice Dean Dr. Romi Srivastava encouraged students to maintain open communication with faculty members and seek guidance whenever they face academic or personal challenges. Vice Dean Dr. Pawan Bhambani and Dr. Rahul Tanwani also addressed the students and shared valuable guidance for their medical education. Dr. Tanwani highlighted the importance of communication skills, explaining that effective interaction with patients is essential for understanding their concerns and building trust. Students were encouraged to develop professional skills alongside their academic knowledge and to approach their training with empathy and responsibility. Dr. G.S. Pal, Dr. Vimal Modi, Dr. Aarti Sahasrabuddhe, Dr. Manila Jain, Dr. Shreya Nighoskar and senior faculty members from various departments were also present. The programme included interactions between students, parents and faculty, enabling participants to understand various aspects of medical education and college life.
