Indore: A three-day orientation programme was organised at the Index Medical College Hospital and Research Centre for the Postgraduate (PG) students of the 2025 batch with the objective of introducing them to the institution’s academic environment, hospital services, and operational framework. The programme began with an interactive introduction session where newly admitted students shared their academic backgrounds, chosen specialisations, and future aspirations, while faculty members acquainted them with the academic culture, discipline, and expectations of postgraduate medical training. On this occasion, Suresh Singh Bhadoria, Chairman of Mayank Welfare Foundation, along with Mayankraj Singh Bhadoria, addressed the students and encouraged them to pursue their goals with dedication, discipline, and a strong sense of responsibility towards society. They emphasised that becoming a competent and responsible doctor requires not only academic excellence but also compassion, ethical practice, and commitment to patient care. Addressing the gathering, Dean Dr. Sanjeev Narang highlighted that the institution provides modern medical education supported by excellent clinical exposure and advanced healthcare infrastructure. He explained that postgraduate students at the college benefit from the mentorship of experienced faculty members and have access to various opportunities for clinical practice and research. He further stressed that during their postgraduate training, students should actively participate in patient care, maintain the highest standards of medical ethics, and engage in meaningful research activities. Medical Superintendent Dr. Swati Prashant also addressed the students and stated that patient care and quality treatment remain the highest priorities at the hospital. She advised the PG students to understand the hospital’s functioning thoroughly and to always consider service to patients as their foremost duty while maintaining professionalism and discipline. Executive Director Dr. G. S. Patel provided an overview of the functioning and regulations of the college and hospital and also informed the students about various government healthcare initiatives, including Ayushman Bharat Yojana. Professor of Surgery Dr. Rahul Tanwani explained that the three-day orientation programme would help students gain a better understanding of the institution’s departments, academic activities, and hospital services. The programme was conducted in the presence of Dheeraj Jaiswal and Dr. R. C. Yadav, along with PG Director Dr. B. K. Agrawal, Vice Dean Dr. Romi Shrivastava, Dr. Aarti Sahastrabuddhe, Dr. V. K. Jain, Dr. Ramnath, Dr. V. K. Arora, and several heads of departments and faculty members of the institution.
