Index Medical College Hospital & Research Center, in collaboration with Malwanchal University, recently hosted an informative Uro-Nephrology Continuing Medical Education (CME) program. The event brought together leading experts in urology, nephrology, and surgery to share the latest advancements in kidney transplantation and post-transplant care. The CME served as a platform for healthcare professionals to deepen their knowledge on the complex processes of transplant procedures and the critical role of comprehensive patient care before and after surgery.

Throughout the event, renowned specialists provided valuable insights into various aspects of kidney transplantation. Dr. Nilesh Guru, an expert urologist, discussed the initial steps involved in organ transplantation, alongside the legal and ethical considerations under the Organ Transplant Act. Dr. Rohan Jain explained the criteria for transplant eligibility and highlighted the potential complications that may arise following the procedure. Nephrologist Dr. Isha Tiwari emphasized the importance of post-transplant care, stressing that optimal management is essential for ensuring long-term health and success in transplant recipients.

The CME also covered essential topics such as brain death, organ donation, and donor registration. Dr. Kshitij Nigam, a neuro-surgeon, provided a comprehensive understanding of brain death and the subsequent organ donation process.
