Index Medical College Hospital & Research Centre proudly observed World Blood Donation Day on June 14th with a special blood donation camp and awareness rally. The event was organized to highlight the importance of voluntary blood donation in saving lives. A large number of doctors, students, and community members participated enthusiastically in the blood donation camp held at the hospital’s blood bank. To further spread awareness, students from Index Medical College and Malwanchal University came together to organize a rally, urging the public to recognize the significance of donating blood regularly and contributing to this noble cause.

Dr. Sanjeev Narang, Vice Chancellor of Malwanchal University, graced the occasion and spoke about the importance of blood donation, calling it the “Mahadaan” — the greatest gift to a living person. He emphasized that donated blood is indispensable because it cannot be synthetically produced and can save countless lives. Dr. Narang encouraged everyone to take blood donation as a social responsibility and contribute towards this life-saving cause. His inspiring words motivated many participants to pledge regular blood donation and support the hospital’s efforts.

The event saw active involvement from a wide range of medical professionals and students including paramedical heads like Dr. Reshma Khurana, blood center officer Dr. Romi Srivastava, and senior doctors such as Dr. Lalit Upadhyay, Dr. Sagar, and Dr. Prashant. The combined efforts of medical, nursing, dental, and paramedical students reflected the spirit of service and compassion that Index Medical College Hospital & Research Centre fosters. Through this initiative, the hospital reinforced its commitment to community health and continues to promote awareness and responsibility towards blood donation among its staff and the general public.
